It’s official. My last day in the Army is July 4th, 2013. I just signed the paperwork today, and started my retirement paperwork.
I’ve just been scrolling through my hard drive and posting random pictures for the entirety of my blog.

I won’t lie to you… the Department of Defense has officially listed rape as an “occupational hazard” for female service members. According to the last briefing I sat through, something like 33% of women in the armed forces have been sexually assaulted.
Sadly, that’s a 1:3 chance that you will be. It’s disgusting and vile, but it’s the unpopular truth. They’re trying frantically to address this problem, and it’s starting to get the attention it deserves… but it’s still a huge problem.
You will absolutely have to deal with jokes, advances, rumors, offers… and perhaps even rape. It’s the same with men. There have been even more men raped than women, it’s just not talked about.

I’m currently stationed in Fort Knox, and I only have about a month left before retirement. So if you’re nearby, you should come off anon and go hiking or fishing or something. My roommate and I are always up to something.
